I ordered the Fetal Doppler Heart Monitor so that I can listen in each time I feel the urge. I heard horror stories of women who were having complications and had no idea until they visited their doctor. To me, a brief monthly visit with the doctor just isn't enough to ease the tension as this is my first successful pregnancy- my actual first pregnancy ended due to an ectopic nightmare. It gives me peace of mind to simply grab the machine and within seconds I am soothed by the sweet rhythm of my baby girls beating heart. I would totally recommend this if you are a worry wart like myself. A word of caution- make sure you know the difference between your blood flow and the baby's heartbeat. I observed my doctor listening through his device and made a mental note of the difference in sounds so that I can be sure of what I am hearing. In the beginning it is easy to get them confused.
